Braswell/Bracewell DNA project Genetic genealogy is the most important new tool for genealogists to come along since the Internet. It provides evidence of human relationships when surviving paper evidence cannot. And it can validate a paper pedigree with solid scientific proof.
Originally, the program was set up by and for descendants of Reverend Robert Bracewell. But because our American founder's surname has morphed into at least 56 different spellings over the years since his arrival in 1650, the project is also open to anyone whose surname begins with Brac-, Bras-, or Braz- and was first pronounced to rhyme with 'dazzle'. That includes Irish Brazils and Brassils as well as Breazeales who are often confused with Braswells in historical records. |
