Evolution of bracewellfamily.com
Bracewellfamily.com started in 2000 when Ron Perkins requested a was to store the Family Tree online so everyone could edit their information. Today we can now do this but it was a long road to get to this point.
-
The first website was a static HTML site that grew to over 2,000 pages of information. Every time a document was added I had to edit the links in several pages by hand. This method took about one hour for every document.
-
Revision two solved several issues by allowing content to be added at a faster rate but this caused several other issues. The three main components of the site (photos, family tree, document) would not work together. Users had to log into each section separately.
-
Revision three took over a year of research and design to find a solution that would allow one login and the ability for family members to control their own contributions to the site.
This new site will offer us a tremendous amount of additional features. All sections of the site work with one login. You can post articles, news, documents, upload photos, and edit the family tree.
Sign up today and start adding content, posting articles, and start preserving our Bracewell heritage.
