Dear Joe,
It was so great getting your letter with so much interesting information. Like you I can't remember the last time we wrote. Thanks for bringing me up-to-date on what you and your family have been doing for the past few years. The last five years have been exciting and hectic for Betty and me. In March, 1987, I became Director of Continuing Education at Middle Georgia College and as a result have much greater demands made on me and my time. I have done very little on the Family Tree since taking over. I did, however, pick up some information on our ancestors who fought in the War Between the States and am sending it to you. In other family news: our son, Ronald, Jr., married a beautiful girl from Gainsville, GA, in 1987. In 1989, they had a son and named him Taylor. Ronald is a CPA and Susan a teacher and they live in Gainsville. Our daughter, Pamela, is a nurse and married in Septembe, 1988. In January, 1991, she gave birth to twin girls and named them Morgan and Mallory Pilcher. They live in Augusta, GA. Our youngest daughter, Ellen, is in graduate school in Atlanta and should graduate in December, 1992. My wife, Betty is secretary to a federal judge in Macon. The attorney she has worked for for many years was appointed to the bench by Reagan and Betty just moved on up with him. She commutes to Macon each day.
I received a card from Gaynor over Christmas with pictures of his house. It is a beautiful place. I have not seen Otis since his wife died. I don't get to attend the Bracewell Reunion because they hold it on Labor Day each year and for many years that week has been the week our son visits with us and he and I play in a golf tournament. However, I did send a lot of the information I have collected to Vernon Bracewell for him to share with those who did attend. I do hope that things will settle down for me and maybe I can get back to researching the family. It is something I really enjoyed and miss not being able to do it.
I will try to do better about keeping in touch. Thanks for the letters and the information. They always renew my interest and make me want to get back to working on the family history.
Sincerely,
(signed) Ronnie
