Ray Bracewell, 68, went home to be with the Lord on January 5, 2009. A native of Huntsville, TX, he had lived in Jacksonville for 22 years. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Alice Bracewell; children, Ray Bracewell II, Eva (Pete) Linster and Robert Bracewell; brothers, Curtis, Ronnie and Donnie; sisters, Barbara, Glynn, Nell, Maryann and Launa; grandchildren, Maria, Lauren, Ashlee, Robyn, Kaylynn and Robert; great grandchildren, Austin, Dominic and Zander. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. A service to celebrate Ray's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. tomorrow, Thursday, January 8, 2009 in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Ronnie McKenzie officiating. Mr. Bracewell will be laid to rest in Huntsville, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society. Ray was the son of Charles Emmett Bracewell, and a descendant of the Joseph Benjamin Bracewell branch. He was buried in Center Hill cemetery in Oakhurst, Texas.
