Dear Joe,

You've got me spoiled. About every week or so I start looking for a letter from you. My wife also says on occasions, "Isn't it about time for a letter from your cousin Joe." Keep them coming.

I am glad to hear that your reunion was a success and that some of the young people are becoming interested. This is a good sign to me. I have always felt that kids and young people have a great deal to learn from the oldesters (sp) and they both can profit from an association even if it is only one or two days a year. The visits I have made to some of the Bracewell households to talk to some of the older heads have been most gratifying to me and they seemed to be most appreciative to have someone listen to them reminisce. Some of my most vivid recollections are of me tagging along behind my Granddaddy and listen to him tell of Jesse Bracewell (his father) fighting in the "War of Yankee Agression" as he called it.

Thanks for including me in your Reunion newsletter. Glad I was able to make a contribution. I saw where you have been in touch with Gaynor Bracewell. I thought I had mentioned him to you but now am not sure. He has kind-of spearheaded the reunion we have for the last two years and was very active in getting it started. He also apparently travels a good bit and occasionally comes up with some useful information. I have not heard from him since April so he may not have any additional information to what I have already sent to you. The story about the three cousins may have come from Otis Bracewell of Laurens County. O6is is about 80 years old, still very alert, and loves to talk about the Bracewells. I know that Gaynor has talked to him about the family. I plan to go to see Otis sometime this summer and let him read what you sent about the Bracewells coming from N. C. and see if that jogs his memory. His story of the three cousins is very similar to what you have except he doesn't include any dates.

I know you and Ruth are looking forward to your trip to England. Maybe this will be your lucky trip and you will find who came over and how we all got here.

Sincerely,

(signed) Ronnie
